Inside this ordinary but bustling 711 gas station you’ll find hot, freshly made pizzas that claim to be the “Real Deal”. We headed out to G-Street to taste test some cheesy pies and see if they really live up to the online hype. r/austin has a lot of turds, a lot of good folks too, but a lot of turds too.

“…ladled in premium sauce, the good stuff.”

We ordered the Extreme Meat Pizza.  The clerk promptly grabbed my pie from a heated serving display platter and we were eating in no time. The crust… is light and crispy, and smothered in premium sauce and 100% whole milk mozzarella for an authentic pie I wasn’t able to get enough of. Seriously, I had another slice…and you’ll have another slice…::leans in closely so you can smell his stinking pizza breath::…you will have another slice, do you understand me?

It’s not hard to agree with having another slice! At a price of just $5.55 for a 14-inch circle of pizza you could probably stop by and grab a slice everyday.

Austin, TX – SXSW “Thank You, Now Go Home” signs banned from being displayed at next year’s festival http://dripfeed.news/internet/austin-tx-sxsw-thank-you-now-go-home-signs-banned-from-being-displayed-at-next-years-festival/ http://dripfeed.news/internet/austin-tx-sxsw-thank-you-now-go-home-signs-banned-from-being-displayed-at-next-years-festival/#comments Sun, 20 Mar 2016 22:45:36 +0000 http://dripfeed.news/?p=574 If you’re familiar with music, branding, or interactive technology, you’ve probably heard of the annual event known as SXSW (South by Southwest). This world renowned festival grew from an 800 attendee local event in 1987 to a 84,385 badge-holding attendee “advertising showcase” in 2016. Usually, near the end of the festival, local Austinites will display signs around town with phrases along the lines of “Thank You, Now Go Home.”  It’s a tradition based on the shared misery of Austin residents who must deal with the 400,000+ tourists, and the traffic associated with them, that come to enjoy the tag-along events that surround the SXSW venues.

Today, news is spreading that local representatives are considering banning the use of any “Thank You, Now Go Home” signage at any future SXSW events – starting in 2017.

“We felt that these ‘Thank You, Go Home’ signs popping up around Austin streets near the end of the festival were making our valuable festival goers uncomfortable.”

They were focused on maintaining an inviting theme to future SXSW events. “We felt that these ‘Thank You, Go Home’ signs popping up around Austin streets near the end of the festival were making our valuable festival goers uncomfortable.” They went on to say, “We were approached by a large group of attendees from a California startup… we set up a meeting to discuss why traditions such as the ‘go home’ signage could be detrimental to future events. Additionally, we discussed how Austinites could inspire a more friendly and inviting atmosphere to bring in more tourists for next year’s SXSW.”

I personally believe that the residents are simply showing their appreciation for the love of the festival and the economic boost it gives, but also sharing their opinion that this city is also “home sweet home” to many who live here. The locals who live within Austin value the unique energy the city has during non-event seasons and they want their visitors to respect that. A tradition based on preserving your community’s sanity from tourism overflow isn’t something to ban in my opinion. Leave us a comment below or tweet @dripfeed_news on twitter to tell us what you think of the potential ban on ‘go home’ signage.

Dad Does What Son Wants to Do http://dripfeed.news/life-style/dad-does-what-son-wants-to-do/ http://dripfeed.news/life-style/dad-does-what-son-wants-to-do/#respond Tue, 01 Mar 2016 21:49:10 +0000 http://dripfeed.news/?p=559 (WASHINGTON, DC)

After years of making Son do what Dad wanted done, an unexpected turn of events may now have Dad doing what Son has already done.

Four months ago, Son decided that he no longer wished to play his parental mandated sports and took his share of competitive interests to the local intramural Magic: The Gathering league. (The league is currently winning the season divisional and is likely to exceed expectations all the way to the famous Silver-Flaked Brown Wizard Rabbitghastly Crumpfrift trophy, which is only awarded to the best player once every planetary alignment.)

Since then, tensions have been rising in the household. Gloves and balls went into boxes and baseball cards went into even smaller boxes. When asked who retained custody of the memorabilia, Mom promptly responded, “I don’t really care, who watches baseball anyways? What good is a card, can you eat them? I don’t think so!”.

Suddenly, ancient Magic cards began to appear in the house and Dad, though incredibly shaky on the rules, seemingly had a more valuable collection than Son. Son was struck with awe when he saw Dad show up to compete in the local tournament for the Silver-Flaked Brown Wizard Rabbitghastly Crumpfrift trophy. Son quickly lost interest in Magic and moved onto collecting postage stamps.

Now, it has happened again, as Dad has bought the local post office.

When asked for comment, Dad said:

I’ve got breakfast on the table. It’s your favorite, toaster strudels — I even made some for myself.

5 Incredible Things You Didn’t Know Cats Could Do! http://dripfeed.news/science/5-incredible-things-you-didnt-know-cats-could-do/ http://dripfeed.news/science/5-incredible-things-you-didnt-know-cats-could-do/#respond Thu, 28 Jan 2016 19:59:31 +0000 http://dripfeed.news/?p=489 Cats are incredible creatures. There’s a reason they are so coveted by ancient cultures and by the internet culture today. There’s still a lot of unknown things about cats though! Science is finding out more and more about these magnificent beasts every day and we wanted to keep you all in the loop. Ready? Okay, let’s begin!

5. Cats can breathe underwater

The Sea Lynx hunting

Well almost! Your regular tomcat can’t breathe underwater, idiot silly, BUT a rare breed of cat called the “Sea Lynx” can hold its breathe for up to an hour. This makes it useful for when it hunts for fish and crab.

4. Cats can sleep

Cats can sleep!

You may not realize it by the constant lurking and running around your cat may do, but cats actually can sleep for up to 23 hours a day. Most cats sleep when no one is around, but they also have a unique evolutionary trait that is only found in one other mammal, the dolphin. The cat can actually sleep with both eyes open, so sometimes you may not even know it’s asleep! Just like humans though, cats enjoy sleeping in queen size beds.

3. Cats get energy from the sun

One really interesting fact about cats is that they get their energy from the sun’s rays. This goes back to the old Egyptian practice of cat sunbathing. Cats have evolved since then to utilize the sun for an energy source when there is no other energy around for them to sap.

2. Cats may or may not kill for pleasure

Like serial killers, cats are addicted to murder. Sometimes they murder smaller animals and pests to leave as an offering to Ba’al, usually leaving them adorned on a doorstep. Othertimes, cats kill for food, only to regurgitate it at a later date so that you may be intimidated by their presence. Each breed of cat is born with a special ability and most don’t learn what it is until they are older. If you have small children around, we recommend adopting an older cat, that way you can know what special ability they have before bringing them into your house. Most cats don’t kill humans, but some may accidentally set fire to everything, so it’s better safe than sorry. Scientists still are unsure if the cat’s killing sensibilities derive pleasure from the beast.

1. Some cats are big

Yes, even the might lion is a breed of cat. The lion can be typically found terrorizing the locals in Tokyo. Every breed of cat is special.

What do you guys think? Do you know any tricks that cats can do that science doesn’t know about yet? Shout out below.
